Education Initiatives
Asia Initiatives believes that children in inadequately staffed and poor environment schools receive an unmarketable level of education. They are thus unable to benefit from the economic growth opportunities. By getting a competitive education, they can become economic assets to their communities and their countries. Asia Initiatives has contributed to the following programs towards this goal:
- Every Child a Scientist program: Asia Initiatives provided computers and support for this program run by MSSRF for children from disadvantaged neighborhoods in Chennai.
- Asia Initiatives supports the literacy programs in Dindigul and other places run as part of the Village Knowledge Centers.
- Asia Initiatives supports education for children of migrant construction workers in Delhi through collaboration with a local NGO, MobileCreches.org.
- Asia Initiatives has helped to establish a scholarship program, and provides basic needs, such as furniture for two rural schools working with our onsite partner, Ashita no Kai (明日の会).
- Asia Initiatives supports the literacy programs in Dindigul and other places run as part of the Village Knowledge Centers.
