Girls empowered by digital literacy and health knowledge

Asia Initiatives projects span from over 20 sites across India, Kenya, Ghana, and the United States. We are proud to present our programs, each of which takes a holistic approach to development, through education, health, livelihood, and women-focused initiatives.

Education & Technology Initiative

Technology has become synonymous with opportunity, and digital knowledge centres utilise SoCCs to create educational and professional advancements that in turn contribute to alleviating poverty.

Women are using the SoCCs program to secure low-interest loans to develop or expand their businesses, ensuring financial security for their families whilst advancing their sense of confidence and personal empowerment.

Environmental Sustainability Initiative

Working in rural and urban communities, SoCCs are used to promote economic and environmental sustainability through improved farming techniques, waste-management and hygienic living.

Health
Initiative

Women and girls are provided with the tools needed to live healthy lives, whilst concurrently creating independent choices concerning their own bodies. On a community level, this initiative also contributes to societal advancement, and economic development.

Community Initiative

In both rural and urban settings, this initiative encourages people to become more involved with their communities by doing social good and enhancing livelihoods through issues such as hygiene and food security.

SoCCs for skill-based learning & training

Hands-on skill training to school students, where a bus modified into an equipment lab with a trainer will provide vocational training to students of villages in Madhya Pradesh, India in exchange of SoCC they have earned by mentoring two younger students as part of Cascades of Learning.

SoCCs For Contextualized Multi-Level Learning In Conflict Areas

Asia Initiatives, in collaboration with Karunodaya, is battling those statistics by developing primary school classes into learning spaces where children can excel in their needed fundamental and foundational skills.

SoCCs For Digital Literacy

In order to battle against the strong cultural and environmental barriers such as gender inequality, poverty, inadequate support, and child marriages, Asia Initiatives is striving to bridge the digital divide and empower adolescent girls in all communities by supporting their education and development.

SoCCs For Education Through Community Changemakers

Asia Initiatives in collaboration with Mera Gaon Meri Duniya is transforming education in the community through building platforms for youth to connect with their society and themselves.

Availing Drinking Water By Rainwater Harvesting Cum Storage Tank

This Asia Initiatives’ program assisted by local partner, Dilasa Janvikas Pratishthan, is targeting the Wavna village in Maharashtra, India to promote water conservation and accessibility through the construction of 4 rainwater harvesting cum storage tanks.

SoCCs Incentivize revival of Culture and Nature for Taiwanese Farmers

SoCCs for Enhancing Literacy Levels in Bihar with Pre-service Teachers

The DIET (District Institute of Education and Training) SoCCs Program, spearheaded by Karunodaya, is a comprehensive initiative aimed at enhancing literacy levels among Primary Grade Students (Grades 1 to 5).

Nutrition Garden For Food Security

To provide food security with improved nutrition and livelihood opportunities, Asia Initiatives is supporting Savera Foundation through the supplement of Kitchen Gardens which enhance agricultural productivity through cost-effective and sustainable resource use.

Ensuring Water Security Through Earthen Nala Bund Water Storage Structures

Asia Initiatives has funded the construction of two earthen nala bund water structures, each of which will hold 4,000,000 liters of clean water.

PAST PROJECTS

Kadam Resource Center

In 2016 Asia Initiatives collaborated with the Center for Development in Ahmedabad, India, to implement sustainable changes in the areas of women’s self-help groups, safe institutional births, involvement of community leaders, healthcare workshops, and girls mentoring their peers.

SoCCs in Kumasi, Ghana

In collaboration with WomenStrong International and Women's Health to Wealth, AI has launched two projects in Kumasi - the Kumasi Market Women Project and the Girls’ Club Project.

SoCCs in Washington DC

In April 2016, WomenStrong International and Bread for the City, in partnership with Asia Initiatives, has launched a SoCCs project in Anacostia, Washington D.C., to help women improve their lives and their communities.
