We are grateful to the United Nations Secretary General for joining us on September 25, 2024 to confer the 8th Annual Ban-Ki Moon Awards to Chandrika Tandon, Lekha Singh, Maria Wilhelm and Dr. Joe Romm. Young Leaders awards were also conferred to our grass roots leaders Vasudha Kapoor and Ashwani Tiwari.

Lekha Singh

Award-winning filmmaker whose work highlights women’s empowerment, human rights, and social justice. She uses storytelling as a powerful tool to inspire awareness and meaningful change.

 

Maria Wilhelm

Author & Environmental Advocate

Maria Wilhelm is co-chair of CAMERON GLOBAL and runs Earthship, an award-winning, earth-conscious documentary unit founded by James Cameron. She’s a co-chair at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, a trustee of the African Wildlife Foundation and a board member of The Explorers Club.

 

Vasudha Kapoor

Young Leader & Community Advocate

Emerging changemaker dedicated to youth empowerment and community development. Her work focuses on creating inclusive opportunities and driving impact at the grassroots level.

Ashwani Tiwari

Leads Vidhyalay Udhyam Association, an organization working with young learners in the tribal geography of Udaipur regarding innovation and entrepreneurship. He is a passionate advocate for tribal women’s participation in the global workforce. Ashwani has earned a bachelor’s degree in electronics and communication engineering and is a recipient of the Gandhi fellowship.
