Shrinkhala – Youth for Constitutional Values

Across 10 villages in rural Ujjain district, Madhya Pradesh, the Shrinkhala initiative cultivates scientific temper, constitutional awareness, and civic leadership among rural youth aged 16 to 28. Engaging 293 participants through 10 village centres, the programme blends weekly sessions, residential learning, exposure visits, and inter-centre meetups to deepen reflection on equality, fraternity, gender, and rational thinking.

Within the Social Capital Credits (SoCCs) framework, youth accrue credits by leading 11 social action projects — convening Gram Sabhas, filing RTIs, setting up libraries, running safe-driving workshops, and addressing village sanitation and water concerns. Credits are redeemed for residential programmes, exposure visits, and career guidance support.

Through 206 weekly sessions, 10 newly established libraries, and emerging youth leadership in Panchayat forums, Shrinkhala is shaping a generation of village changemakers grounded in constitutional values and collective agency.
