SoCCs FOR DESIGN THINKING, INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN AI FUNDED MAKER LABS
Asia Initiatives is collaborating with Vidhyalay Udhyam to promote education and foster innovation and entrepreneurship among children in remote rural villages of Chawand. The Maker Lab initiative aims to provide children with the tools and resources necessary for intellectual development and exploration of their interests and goals. The project operates through on-site Maker Labs and involves local volunteers in off-site activities. The Maker Lab initiative encompasses three main modules: A) maker mindset course, B) Design thinking framework, and C) Entrepreneurial activities.
Children participating in the project earn Social Capital Credits (SoCCs) by coaching juniors through project-based learning, foundational numeracy and literacy. These SoCCs can be redeemed for various educational opportunities, including a one-year membership of the Green skill curriculum (E-waste to wealth), Maker mindset courses, Design thinking framework course, a 6-month entrepreneurship course, and seed resources to test their own ideas.
