SoCCs FOR EDUCATION THROUGH COMMUNITY CHANGEMAKERS
Asia Initiatives, in collaboration with Mera Gaon Meri Duniya, is revolutionizing education in Ujjain, India, through the SPARSH project. This initiative aims to cultivate strong youth leaders by offering age-appropriate learning opportunities for primary school children and establishing peer-learning environments in villages. Youth leaders earn Social Capital Credits (SoCCs) by teaching children from Government Schools in their villages and organizing community visits to engage with parents, monitor their child's progress, and provide positive support. SoCCs are redeemed for workshops on ART-based learning, community engagement, and integrating real-world connections into classrooms.
Additionally, the cofounders of Mera Gaon Meri Duniya, Vasudha Kapoor and Nageshwar Panchal, are fellows of Plustrust anchors, which offer pre-incubation support to young changemakers through the Young Change Makers Fellowship in inclusive education and animal welfare. Asia Initiatives supports Plustrust's efforts to inspire and nurture changemakers by assisting in the micro-incubation of social ventures, with a special focus on women.
